Privacy Policy
Effective 30 September 2026
Reckon reads a household's accounts, sorts what happened and gives the month back as a file. It is operated by Memriq Holdings, Inc. ("Memriq", "we"), which is the controller of the personal information described here. Reckon does not advise, recommend or move money.
What Reckon collects
- Your account — your name and email address, and a password or your Google sign-in. One Memriq account signs you in to every Memriq service; being let in to Reckon is decided separately, by invitation.
- Your bank transactions, if you connect a bank — you connect through Plaid, and you type your bank sign-in into Plaid, never into Reckon. Reckon asks Plaid for your accounts' transactions and nothing more: it cannot make payments or move money. Plaid's own End User Privacy Policy covers what Plaid does.
- Files you upload — card statements and pay stubs you choose to import.
- What you teach it — the rules you write and the corrections you make when Reckon labels a transaction.
Reckon does not buy information about you and does not add to your account from anywhere else.
How it is used
- To sort your transactions, label them, and produce the files you download.
- To learn from your corrections, for your household only. What your household teaches Reckon is never used to label another household's transactions.
- To send you the messages you asked for, such as a waiting-list confirmation or an invitation.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and have not in the past twelve months.
Who can read it
What Reckon stores about your household — merchant names, amounts, account names and last digits, the people named on a card, pay-stub figures and the rules you write — is sealed with a key belonging to your account before it is stored. The fields Reckon has to sort and look things up by are not sealed: dates, internal identifiers, and flags such as whether a transaction is pending. None of those says whose money it is on its own.
Services that process it for us
- Plaid — connects the banks you choose and passes their transactions to Reckon.
- Railway — runs Reckon's servers.
- MongoDB Atlas — stores Reckon's records, sealed as described above, in the United States.
- Neo4j Aura — stores what Reckon's agent learns about labelling, kept within your household.
- OpenAI — the language model Reckon uses to suggest a label for a transaction its rules do not answer.
- Resend — delivers the emails described above, through Memriq's one sender.
- Google — signs you in, if you choose Google.
How long it is kept
Your account and household data are deleted within 30 days of your account closing. Support messages are kept for 2 years, server logs for 90 days, and billing records, if you ever have any, for 7 years. Backups can hold deleted data for up to 35 days before it is gone from them too.
Deleting it, or getting a copy
There is no delete button in Reckon yet. Write to privacy@memriq.ai: we acknowledge within 5 business days and finish within 30 days. The same address gives you a copy of what we hold, or corrects it.
If you are in the EU or UK
We rely on the contract with you to run Reckon, on our legitimate interests to keep it working and secure, and on your consent for anything else. Your information is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with its date before it takes effect. Privacy questions: privacy@memriq.ai. Anything else: hi@memriq.ai.
